Sunnyvale, CA, July 20, 2005—Jeskell, Inc., a top tier IBM Premier Business Partner, today announced the addition of an IBM Data Retention Center of Competence to its award-winning, $1.5M Business Partner Innovation Center. The purpose is to help companies manage the growing need for long-term data retention and deal with related government regulations.
“As companies move to comply with corporate policies and existing regulations, new mandates are emerging and businesses are struggling to manage their data efficiently,” said Alan Stuart, Chief Strategist for Data Retention Solutions, IBM Risk and Compliance Council. “Compliance can mean confusion, but every organization has to weave it into the fabric of their business operations. Through these Data Retention Centers of Competence, IBM gives selected Business Partners, like Jeskell, the tools they need to help clients obtain an integrated view of their processes, organization, technology, and controls across all industries.”
The new center allows Jeskell to offer clients:
Jeskell will also deploy IBM's competitive total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) tool to compare various compliance and data retention alternatives as a way of mapping Jeskell solutions and services to the IBM risk and compliance framework, which can help customers better determine IT requirements based on the compliance mandates of various industries.
The tool models customer environments, illustrates data growth over the life of the data, and provides comparative TCO for alternative solutions. Also included are common variables like storage administration that CIO and IT leaders normally use in TCO evaluations.
“We can now give clients the latest tools, from both IBM and 'best-of-breed' ISVs,” says Pip Smith, Jeskell Senior Director of Commercial Sales. “This will help them design and implement comprehensive data management strategies and, possibly, lower IT infrastructure and management costs.”
One of the first products available through the Jeskell Data Retention Center of Competence is the IBM TotalStorage DR550, a system designed to provide a central point of control for managing data that helps customers manage long-term data retention and address compliance requirements.
